This is a logo concept and not in any way associated with ScS. We are simply flexing our creativity and showing how brands can evolve.
We are always on the lookout for exciting projects to keep our design talents sharp and to keep us passionate about what we do. We can't resist redesigning existing company logos just to explore how they might look with a fresh approach. A company rebrand can have wonderful effects, not just on brand awareness and renewed attention but also for staff themselves. With a new brand brings new opportunities, modern interiors and a more focused approach which can only have a positive effect on staff and customers.
ScS is one of the largest Sofa and carpet stores in the UK and does battle with DFS and Sofaworks. We identified ScS as being a in need of a brand refresh because of the mismatch of fonts and lack of personal touch. Many sofa ads can be bland and a bit of the same. Very sales-led and no emotion or personality.
We played with the idea that the sofa is where lots of memories start and end, where you had your first kiss, your first christmas as a family, where your dad once sat and it is where everybody congregates to catch up and tell stories so we worked on the theme of 'bringing people together."
The logo has been modernised, adding a more personal strapline instead of shouting SOFA, CARPET, SPECIALIST. We created a logo that was joined up, connected and has a feeling of togetherness to help make people feel warm and want to create more memories on an ScS sofa.
